We set out our first cache this weekend aqnd also learned a very valuable lesson, don't depend on a smarthphone GPS to establish the coordinates. Luckily the person who did the first find let us know that we were off by about 45 feet, so I quickly ran back this morning with my GPS and rechecked the coordinates. All should be good to go.
The name of our first cache is Ghost of Picnics Past. |

Congrats on your first hide! I just did my first hide a week ago and I am now finding myself out hiking around wilderness areas after work snapping photo after photo of potential hiding spots
I guess there are much worse things to be addicted to, right? |

Way to go on your first hide. Careful, this caching bug is terminal. |

congrats on the first hide. And 45 ft off using a smartphone isn't really all that bad. Most handheld GPS units get somewhere around 20-30 ft accuracy.
Depending on hints and beacons, it can ease the inaccuracy if the possibile locations are fewer. |

Absolutely agree with that. It really gets into your blood this geocaching. We have now hid our second cache earlier this summer. |
