Quick - run back and do a "Verify" for the points for this cycle before anyone else logs it. |

Ya know, I had half a mind to make a run at a month after a long hiatus from "serious" play, but it's really hard to compete when a certain someone can bag 45 points (55 points with a replacement???) on one cache alone. So, now it appears I have just half a mind, which will surprise no one on these forums.... |

Just read the (2-part) log. Wow! On one hand now I'm thinking, gee I could have made it, but on the other hand I think I'm glad I didn't! Maybe it was divine providence that I only brought my knee boots that day instead of chest waders.... |

At the beginning of the adventure, YES. 1/2 way back, NO. Now that it's over, Absolutely. |

Knee boots would not be enough to make this one (at least not on either path I took). As a hunter I knew I was in some tough terrain when I hadn't seen a deer trail for over a 100 yards and still had 300 yards to go.
I'm thinking we should challenge Les Stroud, Bear Grylls, or one of the like to venture out here and see what they have to say. It was only a 2 hour adventure for me, but the marsh is big so I'm sure they could turn it into a multi-day adventure. |

Well if it's Bear Grylls, you'd have to find a spot for the camera crew, and you'd have to be sure to stick a derelict canoe out in the middle of the swamp that could be easily patched with something he happened to have in his backpack. I can start writing the script now about how really, really, really dangerous it is.... |
