Hi All: I'm from Cleveland,OH, originally & during a recent visit, my friend Sally (aka Hayley's Comet) and I hit three geocaches there. Our third & last, called "Downtown Cleveland Webcam Cache #1," was a blast. This cache consists of a street corner at a major intersection in the city's theater district and the webcam that is trained on it from a nearby office building. After we arrived Sal called her husband & I called mine (Ken!) on our cells to let them know we were there. They were then both able to manipulate the webcam from their computers (Ken was on his in WI) in order to find us. Once he had us in view, Ken took several photos. In order to log a find, you have to submit your photo at the street corner; in our photo you'll see us on our phones. There are two other views to check out too: a long shot of the street corner & one of two happy geocachers! The cache description fully explains how everything works. I'm wondering if the "#1" in the name implies that the owner is placing more like this in Cleveland? Perhaps we'll see one in our area soon. (Anyone?!)

Robin,
That is way too cool!
How long did it take Ken to home in on you?

There is a webcam cache in Marshfield at the high school. Last I looked, nobody has logged it. As I have relation up there, as soon as I have some good motorcycle weather, I'll probably hit that one. That is if I can get my wife to be around and remember how to save the picture.

Brian: Ken being the whiz kid he is, it took him only a moment to find us, then another to zoom in. Getting all six or so shots required five minutes of his time. I think he liked movin' that Robocam around.

Team Cachebarr logs a webcam cache in beautiful Las Vegas! Ever since first seeing this post of Ken and Robin's, I have been wanting to come across one of these geocaches. Well, it finally happened. You can see me and my mom here:

You will see a photo of me on the phone with my dad who is in Illinois and locating us on the webcam and shot the photo. How truly neat and cool this was! Made my vacation that much more enjoyable and memorable!

The LasVegas.com didn't work for us either. We went to www.hardrockhotel.com and found the live webcams from there. |
