I am doing this from my phone. I cannot access the website from my computer or laptop. I can't access the website my phone with Wi-fi enabled. Leads me to believe it's my isp. Could someone put me in touch with a webmaster? Email would work best because I can't access the site. Thank you very much

There is a known issue with the Roadrunner ISP. Is that your ISP? If so, the solution is to get a different provider.

I think the best place for you (and anyone else who is unable to access the WGA website via time warner road runner internet service) to seek out help is with your Internet provider directly.
We have one board member Team Black Cat who is volunteering as an assistant "Webmaster" but he certainly is not in a position to troubleshoot internet connections. There is no known reason from a webservice perspective that a service provider would call out the WGA site in a blacklist or blocked site list. If a service provider tells you otherwise, please contact a board member so that we can work through that but until we learn more about what the issue may be at your local provider, there is not much we can do. |

Is there anyone with Time Warner / Road Runner in the Fox Valley area that is able to access the site? My thought process is just trying to figure out if it's selective people or everyone in this area. |

No problems from NEW.RR here. Check the other thread from a few weeks ago; I think there were several other RR users from the valley, some with and some without problems. |

Still could be related to the ISP. It's not just about where you are located. What I learned about services like time warner is 2 customers living next to each other can have completely different experiences with services. It seems like each technician can do things differently. Than within that you can set things up differently depending if your using your own WiFi setup, security software, etc.
If you can easily navigate many websites but cannot access a specific site, it sounds like an internet access issue or an issue with that site. Seeing as we have many members who can access the site, it doesn't seem to be a site/server issue in this case.
Outside of calling your ISP for some help...
If your using wifi, try plugging directly into the cable modem with ethernet to eliminate a Wifi/router issue. If that still doesn't work, try a different browser. Still no go. Got a different PC? Or can you take your PC somewhere else? Work to either prove it's your PC or your internet service/access. Gotta be one or the other really. |

I was on the phone with time warner for about half an hour saturday. We tried resetting my router, my modem, And going with out the router. We tried trace routes and pings. The technician with able to access it From his location as well as my server. He was at a complete loss. I will keep trying and let you guys know. In the meantime thank god for smartphones, And androids ability to dictate text, Do you really think I would type all this from my phone? Lol. Htc evo rocks! |

Several computers, several browsers. No luck. I am going to take my computer to my moms and try it this week. |

Doesnt it though!?!? We love our EVO, an awesome caching tool. Although we keep it in the car when its raining or the terrain isnt too friendly looking to be holding the phone. Using our Garmin Oregon 550 AND the EVO for its navigation ability is a great combo. Plus its nice to post logs directly to Groundspeak right from the field! WHooops, did I almost hijack this thread?? |

It is likely a problem with the Time Warner DNS server.
Maybe you could try switching DNS servers?
I would suggest http://www.opendns.com
All it needs to be is a setting on your computer (Setup On Computer Instructions)
or, you can set it up on your router too: (Setup On Home Router)
There are additional benefits you can get by signing up for a free account, but you don't have to sign up for anything.
I've been running this for a while and it works well. |
