The WGA will be forming a committee to assist with planning and development of the WGA's portions of the Cash Bash event to be held in West Bend next August.
To be clear, this will be a distinct committee from the West Bend Event Committee, which is responsible for working with the Chamber on registration, goodie bags, placement of caches, and downloading waypoints.
The WGA Cash Bash Bend Committee will be responsible for planning, developing and staffing the WGA pancake breakfast on Sunday, the Geocaching 101 class on Saturday, a membership booth at Regner Park on Saturday, and sales of WGA merchandise.
Both the WGA Committee and the local West Bend Committee will work with the West Bend Chamber to make the Cash Bash event grow and be the premier mega event in the midwest.
We are seeking a few volunteers now to help start up this empowered committee, do some of the long range planning and get the Sunday cache page up. We will seek many more volunteers next summer.
If you are interested in getting in on the ground floor of the WGA Cash Bash Committee, you can either post here, or PM Mr Greenthumb. Mr Greenthumb has volunteered to be the chair of this committee and coordinate the WGA's efforts with the West Bend Chamber's efforts. Thank you Bill!

Mr. Greenthumb and I talked at the Janboree about my possibly helping with planning kid's activities. I would still be happy to help out in this area. Just tell me what you have in mind and I can put something together. I have never been to a Mega event before and am looking forward to it! |

Just to clarify and avoid some of the confusion that occured last year keep these things in mind.
The Mega Event is a function of the West Bend Chamber of Commerce.
The event is not a WGA event, but it is supported by the WGA.
There was some confusion last year when it came to volunteering to help with the event.
When it comes time to post sign ups for volunteers there will be seperate sign ups for each of the different areas.
The WGA will post sign ups for the pancake breakfast. geocaching 101, the WGA booth and WGA product sales.
The West Bend Chamber will have a seperate sign up for help with the event registration, downloads and other areas directly involved with the running of the event.
While the West Bend Chamber will appreciate any help it can get from WGA members, please consider supporting the WGA first or both.
Planning by the West Bend Chamber has already begun and anticipation of a bigger and better event this year the Chamber and the WGA will be counting on all of the membership for their support. |
