Has anyone else been experiencing the phenomena of double logs? I received several e-mail notifications of cache logs recently that were duplicates. When I checked the cache pages, they were indeed duplicates... not just from one cacher either.
And then yesterday, I was out caching and after logging my caches noticed that the count was off. In rechecking, I found that two of mine were inexplicably double logged. Did someone at Groundspeak feed the squirrel something funny???

Groundspeak doesn't have a squirrel. They have hampsters. Hampsters are notoriously unreliable.

I get several of them every week. I send an e-mail asking them to delete one. It seems to be a phone logging problem from the feedback that I get from the finders. I have had this happening for more than a year.

Yeah I'm guilt of doing that myself on occasion with my phone. Not sure why it happens though, I only push the button once I swear! Smile

Could be that http request fails half way through, so the phone resubmits the request to the server a second time.

My phone has on occasion sent somene an email multiple times. (six times). I am guessing the phone did not receive its confirmation so it resent the email again.

Just thoughts. Someone more knowledge will need to chime in.

I would guess this as well. I have posted some duplicate logs and all have come from the phone based on failed postings and automatic retries.

I can understand that if the cachers who logged my caches used a cell phone, but I didn't log the caches I found with a cell phone...I've been accused of still using a tin can and string...all mine are via my computer.
Strange...very very strange Shocked

I can see where that tin can thing comes from.
