A great spot for some nice paddling. There's a slow current so perfect for the family or novice paddler.

CodeJunkie, Mr. Lacknothing, Run (of Run N Search) and I did the series on June 18th and were the first to attempt a summer find.

From parking to the last cache "up river" is 1.86 miles.

Here's the bookmark from 4mnms:

If a person were coming out of town, would it be a terribly long walk back to the car from the end? That's always our dilemma when it comes to series like these, which we enjoy a lot. Too much to load the bikes and the canoe for that length of a drive.

Keep in mind we don't mind walking multi mile distances, but might be a bit tired after paddling! Thanks for the recommendation.

The last cache isn't really near anything like a parking area or trail which would make walking a bit difficult. It's about 4 miles round trip from parking area to #10 and back and the paddle is easy with little current and few obstacles in the water.

The following link is something I'm playing with in a new tool I found. You can hover over the cache icons for their name. It also allows you to move around on the map as well as change the type of view (i.e. terrain, roads, etc.)
Firefighter Series

It's a "Grid Filler" series for the T5 column, but the nice thing is that it doesn't go easiest to hardest from 1 to 10. This provided a nice varying degree of challenge as we paddled with some easier ones mixed in throughout the whole adventure.

I'm a less than experienced paddler and today I was just a little sore at first but never felt we'd over extended ourselves. We had enough strength afterwards to tip a couple and eat a burger at The Underground.

This paddling trip was like riding the Bugline. You may cover some miles but you are getting out every 5 minutes for another caches.

Rich says the distance from the last cache "upriver" is ~1.86 miles. You can contact Marie and Roger if you want his valued opinion.

It is about a 4 mile round trip paddle. Very easy going. It took us about 3.5 hours to grab all ten caches, including a couple extended searches.

We could have paddled a little easier and taken a little longer if we wanted to.

There are a whole bunch of caches in the area to grab before or after the canoe portion of the trip.

The canoe trip is worth the effort, the caching adventure is worth the effort, and combined, makes it a must-do-can't-miss series.

Add to that, watching your caching buddies flail around in the swamp, knee deep in muck. Well it doesn't get better than that!
