This may sound funny to you seasoned cachers, but do chirpers actually chirp or make any sound when out in there gz.

No they just send info to your GPS. You must be able to have a GPS that can hear it.

I dont think that is a chirp cache. There is no mention of it or anything in the attrbitutes about it.

we woe by an old non-working pay phone. Has anyone head of people using noises to get you to find a cache and if so do they say it on the cache page normally.

A noise to find a cache sounds like a novel idea. If it was a chirp cache it would say in the attributes. There would one be that says wireless beacon. I think you should turn your ipod off and take your ear buds out, then you might not hear noises. [Very Happy] Just kidding.
I would look under the shelf of the old phone for a mag key holder.

A "Chirp" cache will be 5*, since special equipment is needed for finding it.
There is one out CJ's way that is a Chirp, and 2 by Utely Quarry near Fairwater.

'Can you hear me now' is a Traditional. Not a keyholder, but a magnet is involved!

I remember that one from the winter. Looked like a hard find due to the snow pile ...but it wasn't and was worth of a small smile that cold day.

I really dont think I would be messing with any electric wires. You should never have to take anything apart.
