Not sure if this is an option, but when I want to do some mapping of cache locations I'll do it using Google Earth. Seems to work well enough for my needs though I'm not using it as my primary caching tool either. |

I happened to look at the maps this morning and was wondering how long it would take before the complaints started flying.
Can't say I'm fond of the change yet. Speed seems slow, tiles don't all load in some and the visual detail seems awful light on others.
I'm sure it will be tweaked more. |

I haven't looked at it yet, but if the old maps are gone, I know I won't like it. I can't figure out how to get the new maps to pan over. These forums were helpful to me when using the old maps because of problems loading; maybe if I can put into words exactly what my issues are, someone here will know how to fix it so I can adapt to new maps. Otherwise I will have to cache even less efficiently than I already do. |

Hmmm, I kind of like the new changes. The maps load so fast! |

I plead the 5th on the new maps. WGA would just delete my comments anyway. |

Thanks Barry...something good came out of this changeover, at least for us. Those maps are nice! Though I still preferred scrolling around for fun on the website with the old maps. Oh well. Less time wasted doing that sort of thing, another good thing to come of this! |

I would agree that the new maps are pretty much awful in "Mapquest Satellite" mode, but there is an upgrade. If you map a pocket query, it now shows JUST the pocket query caches. Additionally, the OpenStreetMap Cycle map seems to have some trails on it (at least in a few places). I have always used GSAK for "real" mapping, so for scrolling around, I always used the non-satellite maps. Still seems ok for that purpose. |
