I like looking around other states' events for ideas for travel and just to see what unique kinds of things are done in other places. This one held recently in the Indianapolis area especially caught my eye.
GC3AAQ1
Granted, the hosts are professional musicians, but they had 26 attend logs and it sounds like people had fun. Both of us play instruments. The one I'd use for any kind of jam, I don't feel so comfortable outside my own home. Well, guess I could bring the djembe or bodhran, too. But I was curious...are there people with musical talents who'd enjoy such an event? If there were enough people there, we wouldn't have to worry if we're any good. |

Don't think I could drag a piano with me to a jam, but I can sing along, and I can bang out really good rhythm on/with just about anything. Someone give me a cowbell! |

I dont play but id be really into this idea specially if it was in some remote place with only coordinates to get there.
And a nice touch would be if we set up a few event caches in the area that would be hidden instruments. hide stuff like harmonicas, tambourines, mouth harps and other easily played things.
you would show up receive some coordinates go find an instrument then come back and join in the just for fun band XD |

My wife loves the flute, Me I am more of the pioneer cd in the car type. My musical ability would be bad enough to scare the spots off a ladybug. It would be a very cool event to attend. |

I would certainly attend such an event, though my musical abilities are less then bad. |

that is a sweet idea, but it would limit the # of people that both have talent and search for tupperware.
Id go, and jam a few on my guit-fiddle
Songs like "I still havn't found what im looking for" and " under the bridge"

And no auto-tuner! Harmonics are OK, though, and encouraged. Capo, picks, and toe-tapping? Well, to each his own! |

If there's a horn section, I play trumpet in a swing band. |

French horn player here, but there isn't a whole lot of call for those at jam events. Swing band would be fun, though. Darn. Isn't there someone who is strong with guitar or something like that, so the rest of us could strum or bang along? |
