Just a head's up to all...the solar flare magnetic storm on the sun should hit the earth tomorrow and the magnetic effects will last for about 48 hours. This means your GPS will probably act sporadically during this time frame and easy hides may be a LOT harder to find. I was a personal witness to lcmcgisme trying to find Wendy's Wanderings (one of mine) as her zero point was all over the place in the last storm.
The sun has gotten active again so we may be in for a lot more of days like this. You can check this page for info in the future...and yes I know it's going to take a bit to decipher. http://www.n3kl.org/sun/noaa.html

I think the solar flares actually arrived yesterday. My GPSr was totally useless yesterday and I had to get help from a Muggle B.
Writing the logs now. |

Nice. Since I was recently schooled in the art of GPS-less caching by MuggleB himself, I found only one today, without the direct aid of a GPS. I guess this was a good day for it. It was a cache that is purposely not at the given coordinates, and it states so in the cache description. Just had to look for geobeacons. |

It didn't effect me today either and I have found many without actually having a GPS with me but if we get a direct hit...not a glancing blow as being reported...it may have some significance.
Actually, it's probably a "whiners excuse" for a DNF so now would be the time to go for it.

I'll chalk up us DNFing your "easy peasy hide" to the solar flare, fer sure. Thanks!!
