The 2012 WGA Campout will be held June 1-3 at Governor Dodge State Park near Dodgeville.
In order to make this event run smoothly, the WGA BOD is looking for members who would dedicate their time to serving on the Campout Committee. The BOD needs your help with the planning and running of this event. It is a satisfying adventure. If you would be able to serve on the committee, you can post to this thread or PM me. |

I thought the campout was 5/18-20? Or am I getting 2 different events confused? |

I am hoping that the May dates are correct, as we have camping reserved for that time period. |

unfortunately all 8 of the group campsites at Governor Dodge were reserved for our traditional weekend prior to the BOD meeting. We decided it was in the best interest to keep it at Governor Dodge but to reserve on the next available dates. June 1-3 is the official Campout schedule |

Jeff (and anyone else that reserved early),
I hope it's not too big of a pain to change your reservations. I was a little surprised when uws22 said that all the group sites were booked. We really should have gotten this done earlier. Lesson learned. |

Sign me up for whatever help you need, Brian. Feel free to use me for more than just cache placements. |

Well, that's good news for me. I had other plans for that weekend in May but should probably be able to make the weekend in June. |

Just as a bump for this announcement, I will be available for the Campout Committee, even though I will not get my reserve fee back. I'll probably use those May dates to check out the park for the event. |

Jeff,
I was in the same boat you were, I had reservations made allready, lost $15 bucks changing my reservation, but was able to get a different site for the correct weekend. |

I'm very disappointed the campout will not be in May, especially since we have made reservations at Gov Dodge already. We will not be able to make it in June. |

We are also disappointed about the date change as we have had the May18-20th date on our calendar and reservations. We will not be able to attend in June as we have reservations at Peninsula St Park that weekend. Our constant geocaching tag-a-long DogloverX3 is also disappointed as she was planning to spend her birthday weekend caching. We hope that the camp out will return to the May date again next year.

I would volunteer to help out but I'm afraid my track record with WGA events isn't very good so I probably shouldn't volunteer. Last year's campout I had to cancel at the last minute with a sick child. Then for the chilli event I had to cancel because of a baptism. I'm going to get a reputation! How about you just put me to work at the campout if by some miracle I actually manage to get there? |
