I am not really new to caching but thought I would get an idea of what devices/tools/"stuff" others have when they are caching. I just want to get an idea of what I have not seen or heard etc. so I can be more prepared in the field. Thanks!!!

Mirror on a stick, magnet on a string, sharpie pen, claw grabber, extra baggies, extra logs, electronic circuit board tweezers, pocket leatherman, and cell phone.

I have a pair of rubbery gloves that were made to open jars. They are very helpful when I can't open some very tight cache covers. Also a mini first aid kit--I've actually helped more cachers along the way than I have needed it myself.

When I began I had trade items and lots of other stuff in tow...but at that time micros were far less common out there...now I cache with a GPS and a pen...I find that combination works for 99.99% of everything.

sarge how's it going...
In my geo-utulity belt and geoJeep I have bent- tip needle nosed pliers, mechanic's mirror on expandable shaft, 180 lumen flashlights, lanyard for the GPS, 2 different sets of inexpensive leatherman/utility type tools, tweezers, forceps, 1st aid kit, magnets, spare logs (customer WGA to boot!), nano logs, spare containers, swag, a small cache container, rubber knee boots, markers and various pens + my official handy dandy WGA nametag.

Of those things, I usually leave them in the Jeep and carry with my the small utility tool, pen and maybe some logs and a flashlight.

The rest just rides around and helps make me think I am cool.

In addition to the aforementioned items:

Bring a lanyard for your GPSR to hang around your neck when you sign the log, so you don't drop it.

A walking stick, a small pad of paper for field solve puzzles, magnifying glass, spare batteries.

Don't forget a camera to log your caching companion's misasventures.

I am a HUGE fan of the Swiss Card.

http://www.amazon.com/Victorinox-53321-Swisscard-Lite-Ruby/dp/B0000E63ZJ/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1351533237&sr=8-3&keywords=victorinox+swiss+card+lite

Fits in your wallet and has everything you need--pen, tweezer, screwdriver, knife. A great little tool that lets you go caching even if you forget the geo-backpack.

Other than that, a copy of the puzzle solutions database for greater NE Wisconsin is handy to have. Cool

I just bring a pen. I don't do puzzle caches or multis.

If the cache requires a tool, not gonna bother unless the page says to bring one such as tweezers to extract nano logs.

All we bring is our GPS some spare batteries and our favorite pen, (usually a fine tip sharpie)

My children pick on me cuz I have a lanyard for my keys and on that I have a flashlight, a pen, tweezers, a pocket knife, compass and my GPS. They say it's a good thing the containers don't have ears or they would hear me rattling a mile away. I also carry band aides( accident prone children), trash bags, and my cell phone. Any more stuff and I'll need a pack mule to follow behind.
