Every once in a while I wish I could favorite a log on one of my caches. Furry Hermit always puts something extra into his logs. Here's an example:

"Crap! Scoob and I try to duck under the counter and pretend to be the wait staff, but there's no fooling our friends. As reluctant as we are to leave, Daphne pulls out the old familiar box of snacks (not sure WHERE she pulled those out from ... but who cares ... they're to die for (Gulp! Did I just say that!)) One or two weren't going to cut it this time. No siree. To go investigate that creepy plant, it was going to cost them a box ... for each of us. Score!!! So we happily munch down our snacks as we take the drive down to GZ.
Once there, we decide to split up to look for clues (Ok ... THEY decide to split us up). Fred and the girls get to hang out by the well lit entrance, while they send Scoob and me down the dark and creepy private road. We go reluctantly, but only because we heard there’s supposed to be a really groovy taco stand on the way with triple bean burritos as big as my head, and we sure could go for some grub about now. About a half mile down the road (and no taco stand in sight … I’m not sure why we didn’t just take the van), we notice a green glow starting to illuminate the area. Maybe it’s Fred and the girls coming to pick us up (and hopefully with the mystery solved). Unfortunately, we don’t hear any engine noise … in fact, we hear what sounds more like footprints. We turn around to see a big and scary, green and hairy alien cache monster. Zoinks!!!! Scoob and I decide to run in place for several seconds while the monster growls at us menacingly with its hands up. Not really accomplishing anything, we eventually gain some traction and sprint down the road back toward the van … and a very loud, upbeat, bubble-gummy tune begins to play out of nowhere.
The glowing green, hairy alien cache monster stays close on our heels, no matter what we try to do to shake him. We tried hiding in barrels, in closets, under tables. We even tried dressing up as very attractive females and leading him down a nearby sewer hole, but it wasn’t fooled for long.
With the music about to end, we figured we have to come up with a way out fast. Finally approaching the van, we notice that Fred and Velma have set up a net trap just in front of the guard rail. Great thinking guys!! Scoob and I try to clear the way to the trap, but we didn’t notice that ice patch right in front of the barrier. We all hit the skids, including the glowing green space alien cache monster. Miraculously, Scoob and I manage to jump over the guard rail to safety. The cache monster is not so lucky and gets nabbed in the net! As the monster struggles to free itself, the local authorities drive up to check out what all the commotion is about. Velma explains how we’ve managed to capture the monster and that she’s got the mystery solved. Fred reaches down and grabs the monster’s face and rips off what proves to be a mask. It’s Beezers!
“I was tired of replacing all my caches that were being stolen by the local muggles,” he explains. “ I just wanted them to stay away and leave my caches alone. I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren’t for these meddlesome kids”. As the authorities haul the “cache monster” away, I notice my stomach grumbling. Lunch hour is over and I barely had anything to eat. Time to move on. Maybe we could find an all-you-can-eat pizza and ice cream buffet around. Before we head out, Scooby pulls out a small container from an undisclosed location nearby. No food inside … just a piece of paper with a lot of strange names on it. We signed ours too and put it back where we found it. TFTC … and the mystery. |

The gang and I decided to head out to check out the groovy geocaching action in Shorewood today (Daphne digs the nanos). After an eventful day out in the sun and fun, we pulled the van into the local eatery. While Scoob and I are munching down a few triple decker tuna, peanut butter and jalapeno sandwiches, Fred and the girls overhear the locals talking about the disappearance of caches in the area. Also, there had been reports of mysterious noises and a green glow down by the old substation. Rumors were beginning to circulate about a glowing green alien cache monster lurking about. Locals were getting scared and staying away from areas where caches were thought to be placed. Just as Scoob and I are about to move on to our main course, we hear those old familiar words that just make the hairs on the back of my neck bristle ...
"Gang ... it looks like we've got a mystery on our hands". |

The Furry Hermit writes the best logs! That was great. And a good warm up for the Janboree theme, too. |
