Out on a 6 state road trip with KCSearcher on his trip to the region. Stayed the night in MN and then worked the states on our way to Des Moines, IA for the night. We not only grabbed the required 1 cache per state, but upped the game by making it 3 per state. That also qualifies for a challenge in Appleton, WI. The icing on the cake was a FTF in IA. It had been published 2 days before. SCORE!!
This was an amazing run that we finished in just over 9 hours. The weather was clear of the predicted storm and the roads were dry. I am glad that KCSearcher asked me to ride along to keep him company. We spent many hours and miles chatting about so many things.
Stats:
3/23/13 - 3/25/13
States - MN, SD, NE, KS, MO & IA.
Challenges completed: GC44V4A & GC3DX78
FTF's - Two (IA)
Traveled 18+ hours, 2,413.3 miles (0.4 on foot) from Concord, CA to Luverne, MN via the short drive from home to SFO then flights to Chicago to Madison
9+ hour road trip from Madison, WI to Luverne, MN was 419 miles (0.4 on foot)
14+ hour road trip from Luverne, MN to Des Moines, IA was 578 miles (1.5 on foot)
8+ hour road trip from Luverne, MN to Des Moines, IA was 439 miles (0.2 on foot)
3 day road trip from Madison, WI to Verona, WI was 1,436 miles (2.1 on foot) |

Congratulations to everyone! I have hopes to do an epic caching trip someday, but when I see it all laid out like that, I second guess the idea I hope you enjoyed the excursion and saw many cool sights and caches |

We saw a LOT of wind farms. I also saw Snow Geese in the fields along the way. One of the highlights was a stop at Offutt AFB, NE. I have not been back on my last station since November 9, 1976. |
