All of us have hobbies and interests outside of geocaching. I like to be crafty in various ways. I usually work with fabric, wood, desserts or paper. Sometimes hobbies merge a bit. Tonight I've been working on making something as a reward for someone who completed my National Park's challenge and it got me wondering. Anyone else do any kind of crafty stuff to honor their geocaching hobby? Here are some of the things I've made.

I made 2 of these geocaching potholders (wish I'd made 3, 1 for me). One was for someone who'd completed my National Parks Challenge, one was for the first to arrive at a mock event I held with chevyole.

I sewed a couple of geocaching flags for my cache GC3MBW7.

And I've made a few geocaching cakes too, here's one of them:

I've also made my own personalized swag. Not sure if I have a picture of them or not though. Anyway, anyone else have anything to share? Our muggle friends may not appreciate this crafty stuff like a geocacher would.

Whoops, didn't mean to post such a friggin' huge picture. I'll try and change it...

Sorry Mr. GT, I took the picture of Ruby out of there. It was too huge! I put in another one.

I can't really say I've combined one of my other crafting hobbies with geocaching, though I did have two fairly unique containers that required a little background skill with crafting things. Both have been claimed by the critters unfortunately and I replaced them with boring ordinary containers now. We've learned that cute is fun, but high maintenance. If I can find the photos I took of them, I can post them here.

I suppose I have some interesting cache containers too. I'd love to see your pictures Gwyn if you can dig them up.

I've applied my hobby of photography to geocaching in numerous ways, not just posting pictures on the cache page. Plus I have a puzzle cache coming up soon that's all pictures.

Okay, this was the first of those containers.

We've learned that critters seem to like adhesive. We reclaimed a lock and lock that probably got dragged off by a raccoon, because it was open and the lid removed where we found it. There was an iron on patch as swag in that one and the adhesive had been chewed right off.

We had some really cool handmade geocaching Christmas ornaments on our tree this year courtesy of the "potholder lady".

Still looking for the other one, which turned out better but still met a similar fate. I did find this one that shows the squirrel as early seekers of that cache would find him.

Birdin', I have a photo of the "fiercest" one that you made, but by the time I had found the container, it was a bit mangled. Can't really tell the shape of it, but the color shows up well. Want me to post the pic here?

Sometimes the places my computer puts my photos is a real mystery. Anyway, this is the other one, before it went on site. I'm still musing how I might create a more durable replacement for this one that carries out the theme. I kind of liked the alternate use of duct tape with these, but so did the local wildlife.

Beat you to it, Pat. At least you got to see the general idea. Now it's pretty much a pile of shredded duct tape, though the container is still intact. But no fun at all.

I know Mrs. Timberline Echoes created a really cool display for some of their geocoins by altering a standard coin book. I don't have photos and that's for her to share if she pops in.
