Fashionably late to the party, but here goes....
First and foremost, a sincere thank you to those that nominated and seconded me, I really appreciate the vote of confidence. Here's hoping that I get a chance to be part of the great group that keeps our ship on course.
Our family has been caching for a couple of years now and in that time I've been lucky enough to explore the far corners of our state and beyond finding hidden treasures. It was actually my wife that introduced us, but someone has to work around here, which leaves me riding herd on the lil hippies. To any members out there that I haven't had a chance to meet yet, I have three little boys who are my near constant caching companions. They also serve to remind me of what I believe is one of the most important functions of our group and geocaching in general - educating!
I've been lucky enough to teach a couple of Geo 101 type classes and I think it's fair to say that the amount of teaching and learning opportunities that geocaching provides are nearly limitless. I personally feel like I've managed to teach my boys; history, geology, perserverance, honesty, honor, being able to laugh at yourself, the list goes on. Geocaching 101 and CITO events, will allow us to continue to build relationships with land managers and the general public which can only have a net positive effect on caching in Wisconsin.
Thanks again for allowing me a chance and hope to see you all on the trails
