Need some ammo cans to hide that next cache, or maybe to store some tools or create a first aid kit?
BigMike989 and I are excited to offer the sale of some amazing ammo cans to cachers, family and friends of the WGA.
These cans are .50 cal size, 6”W x 12”L x 7”D, in A+ condition. No rust, no dents, seals and handles are great! See some pictures at the link below.
We will be providing the cans with ammo information primed over just to make sure they don’t get mistaken by law enforcement. We will also have some cans painted with a geocache identifying stencil.
We are offering these cans at a cash price of $6 a piece or $5 a piece for purchases of 3 or more.
We plan to have cans available at the WGA Campout in May. If you would like us to make sure that we have some reserved for you, please contact me at kdkrause at uwalumni dot com and we will mark some for you for delivery at the campout. Please provide us with your caching name and actual name in your e-mail.
These cans are also available for pick-up in the Madison area. Contact me if you are interested in pick-up.
Shipping is also an option, but the sale price does not include shipping costs.
Feel free to contact me if you have questions.
Kevin

Awesome you guys! It's good to know that you are trying to fill a need! With all the talk of containers lately, and the questions of where to locate ammo cans, it's great to see that you've stepped in to help!

Our local military surplus store on Wisconsin ave in Appleton is closing down. I had bought all mine from there in the past and always got a good price. Maybe I should stop on by and see what they are selling theirs for if they have any left. |

He is where we obtain our ammo can needs in Southeastern Wisconsin
Kenosha Military Surplus
6527 39th Ave
Kenosha, WI 53142
262-654-5335
N42*34.530 W087*51.316
call first to check if he has any in stock (usually keeps quite a few in stock)
.30 cal $8.00
.50 cal $12.00
They are as is, sometimes you get lucky in having camo painted on them already but most times you have to add that yourself. Makes a nice project for those rainy days when you can't go out caching. |

I noticed a week ago or so that Fleet Farm in Beaver Dam has some army surplus back by the hunting/fishing area. On the bottom shelf they had quite a few ammo cans ranging in sizes at reasonable prices I thought. I don't know if other Fleet Farm's stock similiar stuff. |

Delany's surplus (between Sauk City and Baraboo on Hwy 12) usually has a couple pallets of them for $5 each. Plus you can load up on swag. (though they do not take plastic for payment. and prefer cash) |

Made a deilvery to tyedyeskyguy last weekend. Still have a few NON geocaching stencil/painted, comes as they are from surplus left if anyone is interested.
$5 a piece pickup in Madison area.
Also have some scratch, slight dent and odd paint ones for half off if that suits your need.
E-mail me if interested. |

I live in Wausau and just went to Fleet Farm today. They keep them in the Fishing area on the bottom shelf it seems. Bought a .50 Cal for $5 in great shape. They were fresh out of .30 Cal cans though |
