Congratulations to Rubeeslpr for their one month anniversary being the last cacher to find a cache in WI! Way to go!

Let me start with how grateful we are for the support Team Cachecows has provided. They have hosted our web site and provided IT services from the start. This organization and this website have become the best of their kinds because of the volunteer efforts of Alan and Arn. If the page is broken it will be fixed. It won't take one dime out of your pockets. I realize that the remarks above were made tongue-in-cheek, but we need to show greater appreciation for what they have contributed before we criticize a flaw.
Alan and Arn, I appologize for what appears to be an impudent remark. I don't think our membership realizes how much you contribute to our sport. And for those who are critical of this minor glitch, please be patient and thankful for what has been so generously given to us. |

Um, I think the thread was intended as a joke.

Is it just me or have these forums just become painful?
I'm taking a vacation from the WGA for awhile...
See you all in September... |

I don't think anyone intended for these comments to be painful. What was said at the top may have been thought or said by any of our members who where unaware of the whole story. I have no hard feelings and hope I have not caused any. I just think we need to be more aware of the contributions being made by our web hosts.

It's not you guys T & TB - it's the forums all together. It seems like there's been a general degeneration of the forum discussions over the past 6 months. A lot more arguing, debating, cynicism, etc... among members. Some of these threads have gotten to be as bad as the GC.COM forums.
This thread was just the "straw that broke the camel's back" for me. I'm finding myself getting more and more frustrated with WI Geocaching lately and it's because of the forums. I need some time off...
As a teacher, I use the summer to recharge the batteries - not drain them down further! LOL |

Agreement w/t&tb. I meant no ill will to anyone. The comment made was simply an observation and gentle request. If you want painful forums, visit the forums at gc.com. I had to stop viewing those or I'd have quit geocaching!
I am certainly not unappreciative of anyones efforts. In fact I am very appreciative of Brew's replacement for this sites loss. I also realize that the recent logs page's stagnancy is because of no fault of anyone in this organization.
Fix it if you can. If not, go geochaching! No big deal!
and a special note of tribute to Troll's Secret Diary for being the last logged cache in Wisconsin...
ok, I'll stop.

Just a note from Team Rubeeslpr.......we don't know anything about the original post. Please do not think we have anything to do with this controversy.
Happy Caching to all of you. It is a perfect weekend to be out there!

Its okay to have fun on the forum. I think everyone associated with the WGA website understand that everyone is very appreciative of having this great website and the volunteer work that goes into making it work.
While the day may come when we have to pay dues to keep this website active, for now there is a handful of the original faithful that keep it happening.
I am sorry if anyone finds the forum topics a bit to argumentitive. Often many of us just play devils advocate to solicite others to add their comments.
When it comes right down to it, caching is very individual and should be done as YOU the cacher feel fit. If anyone does not like it, tell them to go take a hike and while on it hide a cache for the rest of us to find (now thats geocaching humor).
Good experienced cachers mentor others or we would soon have nothing to find or do.

I commonly think of the people here as my friends. Friends can generally speak their mind to each other without sugar-coating everything. We should all be able to share our thoughts here without being attacked or scolded. I love these forums. I respect the folks that plan and build everything the WGA does. I can also tell someone i'm not particularly happy about something without losing my respect for them. That's one of the great things about having friends.
