I got my son a Garmin etrex for his 11th birthday over the weekend and we've been hooked ever since! I think you have a couple of new addicts |

Welcome to cacherchick and son. You got it right...It is an addiction!
I have two kids and I always take at least one when I go out caching. It is an excellent way to get them out into nature and spend some time with them! |

What a great family sport you have joined! I am sure that many hours will be spent exploring Wisconsin's little known places together. Have a ball.

Welcome to our geocaching community!
We are in your area and would love to meet and cache, if you're interested. Feel free to e-mail us through our profile on the geocaching site! Also, our Racine caches "Pond"er this Puzzle, Twin Towering Trees, and A River Runs Through It would give you examples of three different types of caches to try your new skills at.
Looking forward to meeting you on the trails. |

Thanks for the welcome all I'm hoping when it warms up a bit I'll be able to get the whole family more involved (add a husband and 2 more sons into the family). I took the youngest out yesterday, but he wasn't too interested in the long walk, and the middle son went out once but also wasn't too interested. |

Would those be the near-impossible kind? |

Oh, Dave, Dave, Dave, Dave! You do have such difficulty with our caches! I guess you just need to have your 5-year-old with you to show you just how easy caching is!

My youngest, who is 5, I only take on hikes that I know are about .15 miles or less to the cache. She has gone farther, but only on very good days. My eldest, who is 9, has learned that if he indulges his mother in helping her cache without complaining about it, he will usually get something like a vanilla shake out of it! Bribery works wonders - I highly recommend it.

Actually, I was thinking that LOL. I've eyed a couple of them up but have pushed them aside for now. I'm scared |

I was kidding about the impossible part. I just has some... difficulties... because I was thinking waaay too hard about where they were hidden and not considering the obvious places. On a return trip, my five-year-old found it in less than a minute... |

I'm still doing the 1/1 ones LOL. Anything that requires math or changing coordinates may be above me. I'd really love to do the cheesehead trivia ones but I don't have a cell phone to call for answers, and I know I'll never get through it. Anyone want to try to tackle these together? |
