This is a question to all the volunteers out there. What kind of volunteers are needed for geocaching and what kind of qualifications are needed? I am having so much fun with this I would like to help other have fun but I need to know how.

Wear a pager and pull geocachers out of the ditch, when they reach a Milestone!

John,
Good question. Well, to start off with there are two major WGA sponsored events each year. One is the Spring Campout and the other is a Fall Picnic. The locations of these events moves a bit from place to place, mostly in State Parks though.. When it's known that there will be such an event close to you and you have some time I'm sure you're more than welcome to lend a hand. Some have been known to drive some major distances and spend a great amount of time in the preparations for an event... Whether it be hiding the temp caches, donating water-soda-etc... Maybe helping design a logo or some of the handouts is more your speed....?

There are many other events sponsored by individual cachers and some of these grow to be as big or bigger than the WGA events. I'm sure some of these people would be open to some help as well...

Rest assured, there will be plenty of opportuntiy to lend a hand...

Happy Caching!!

~Bill

If you are interested in helping out with geocaching.com activities and/or wi-geocaching.com activies you should try and get voted onto the Board Of Directors of the WGA. From there, the world is your oyster.

If you are interested in running for the board, you will need to be nominated (and seconded) to get on the ballot. All you really have to do is let some people know you are interested, and I'm sure a nomination will follow.

Elections are held during the late winter of each year.

Edited for not having brain fully engaged but fingers typing madly.
