when i logged into geocaching.com i noticed a few changes in the last few days. some where under my account info(in right column) i stumbled onto the google earth geocache browser download.

it works really good but was wondering if anyone else had tried this? or has anyone else noticed any other changes?
ALSO NOTE: i noticed the link for printing a bug sheet
(current goal sheet) is missing. i thought it was on every travel bug page on the right, but i could be wrong.

UPDATE: removed link

I saw it. Tried the link, and it did not work. Got all gobbly-gook on the screen. I'm using Opera, and I wonder if that affects it.

i was using firefox 1.4 so i decided to try it in opera. works great if i log into my account, but if i have my girlfriend log in, it doesn't work, so not a browser problem just a link that i can't share.
so to find the link on geocaching.com log in and click on your user name in upper right. this should bring you to the page with all your recent logs. in the right column, look for "Google Mapping Features" and the first thing listed here is "Download Geocache browser in Google Earth"

LOL is right, i guess i wasnt to clear, i have been using google earth for sometime so thats not was im asking. i was wondering if anyone else has tried the download from geocaching.com for google earth(its new).
with this plug in installed it basicly let you see caches on the map without having to load files in at all, it just gets the data online like all the other map info.
I'm going to include two links to screen shots of some of what this plug in does.

here is how you can sort out what is displayed http://img356.imageshack.us/my.php?image=cachelistings5hc.jpg

here is how map looks.... http://img356.imageshack.us/my.php?image=g3copy1fi.jpg

I also downloaded this thing for google earth. It is a great way to see where caches are in different areas without using the slow maps on gc.com. Just some things I noticed, if you're not zoomed far enough it will show caches in certain spots, but it won't show all of them that are there. Once you zoom way in though it will show all caches. As well, sometimes it takes it a while to show all the caches on the screen.

I'm with ya now Hograd. I didn't realize this feature was available. I love it now that I've tried it.

One question though... does anyone know if Google Earth will indicate which caches I've already found? That would be great...

I have dialup, and was able to download the file without growing a beard waiting for it. It was actually under 5 minutes.
Its the fact that my computer is 3 yrs old that is preventing me from running it at home Image

At work, it is Awesome! I hadnt found the way to sort them yet, so Thanks for that tip!
Ah, technology!

ya i thought this was a nice little improvement, and thought i would share with everyone. i also noticed that it sometimes doesn't get all the caches in an area until you are really zoomed in. even then if the cache is along edge of the map it sometimes wont show. but if you move map slightly it will get the ones along the edge. what i like the best is getting to see caches anywhere on the map with no effort by me, pick a destination and wait for map to load. thats pretty easy.
as for a setting where google earth knows what caches you have alrady done, i never found anything like that but that doesn't mean it isn't here. this would make it that much better!

Just for fun, go to a travel bug page and click the Google Earth link there. You'll get a map showing the bug's travels, and you can use the Tour mode to zip around from stop to stop.
