Nashville is often cited as the first city where caches were created just to generate numbers. Mindless, repetitive hides that offer no reason to get out of the car other than to sign a log.

To be sure, Nashville has much to offer in terms of history and hills, but its swamped under parking lot hides etc.

Sort of a Gresham’s Law for geocaching.

Nope, never did. No one ever should...the only numbers that matter are the ones following your own name. And those really don't matter either! It's not about the numbers, it's about the journey...but then I've said that before.

Did you know that Nashville's nickname is called Cachville? We went down there last October. I remember doing "Historic caches, some up in the hills, they have some hard ones (we had some no finds), and they have their share of drive-ups. Geowoodstock #2 was hosted in Nashville, that's where they started the "cache runs." A lot of those drive-ups usually go MIA eventually. There are a lot of nice geocachers that we have meet in Tennessee. We plan on making a return trip and attending an event down there in June. Tami

Sorry, Major, this topic is only for those who have an interest in numbers.

Some watch tv, some drink beer, some read books, some go for walks, some like playing with numbers. Take your pick. Please, do not criticize others' choices.
