Why is corn being used for Wisconsin? Nationally, Wisconsin ranks 10th in production? Even Illinois is better than that at 2nd. I know it probably has to do with the green and gold theme, but I never think of Wisconsin when I see corn.

Uncle Fun has a good point there. I think of BEER, cows, milk, cheese, mining, forestry, shrubberies, geocaching, sailboats, rolling hills, red barns, Milwaukee and the Green Bay Packers amongst other things - not corn. |

The Packers would tie in with the Green and Gold theme... and that can be easily changed. Ideally, we would keep the green and gold. That would definately work. |

I think we all kind of thought beer wasnt the way to go.. and, we tried cow spots, but they really dont come off as cow spots unless they are ON a cow. LOL
Any other ideas are welcome! |

Please do share ideas - I cant see as to why the NFL would object, being as though all those involved will be trading, and not 'selling' the coins.
But, as I said, Ideally, we would be keeping with the green and gold theme. |

I agree BARNS would be an awesome design idea perhaps with a silo.

Just making mention that there shouldn't be anything blatant like a Packers "G".
*EDIT*
Oh and I like the Green and Gold corn on the state image, I would just replace the corn on the other side with something like the barn image. |

Many of you know that I'm a HUGE Packers fan. And, I'm sure there will be many in the project who are HUGE Bear's fans. Knowing this I think it would be better to not use the teams on the coin. There is much more to both states than out team rivalry.
When I think of Wisconsin I think of rolling green hills and valleys, the landscapes of the dells, rivers and lakes (we have over 13,000) wildlife, Hunting and fishing (though I do neither), Cows, cheese, beer, agriculture, manufacturing, forrests, parks peace and serenity.
When I think of IL, I think of the blues (music not sadness), multicultural communities, The sears tower, Navy Pier, Potholes, Abraham Lincoln, food on a stick, agriculture, industry and politics.
But whatever you come up with for a design, I bet it will be great. |

I added a cow to the front - a barn could represent IL OR WI, and since WI IS the 'Dairy state' a cow seems fitting... and makes for a nice illustration. Unless a barn silhouette would be used. |

Another revision...
How does this one look?
I did another with a cow on the front, and with cow 'spots' instead of the corn, but I didnt like it as much as this design.

I like the green and gold corn on one side and the barn silhouette on the other. |
