I'm having chili for lunch. You know, that stuff with noodles in? Seem to have received a container from Saturday's leftovers!

No problem.

But for the record - you're having "casserole" or "hot dish" for lunch, not chili. Maybe we should start a new thread to debate what "chili" is or is not? It could be just like the debate surrounding the "snowflake" attribute. wink

Since when is The Squirrel a BOD member??? I don't remember seeing its name on the ballot anywhere, and we certainly don't know what kind of pie it likes!!!

The Squirrel is not a BOD member. He just sat in on the proceedings.

Yes, I just read that in the abbreviated update in another forum. Rolling Eyes

But just for the record, I would like to know what kind of pie it likes... Twisted Evil

Our argument on Saturday is that "chili has noodles; chili con carni does not". Hot dish gets baked IN the oven. Chili simmers ON the oven (or in a Nesco).

You may want to start the "Snowflake" topic again, asking last weekends Door County cachers what THEIR opinion is! wink

chil·i
/ˈCHilē/
Noun

A small hot-tasting pod of a variety of capsicum, used chopped (and often dried) in sauces, relishes, and spice powders.
A spicy stew of beef and red chilies or chili powder, often with beans and tomatoes

No mention of noodles whatsoever.

And my comeback is : Have you ever had a chili dog or chili fries with noodles?

Wrong seasonings for spaghetti. The noodles that we sometimes add to chili are elbow macaroni. That would be Chili Mac.

Nothing beats a good bowl or plate of squirrel stew chili loaded with walnuts.
