I may look like a zombie at the underdown recreation area come 8pm on Saturday. At 10 hours in length this will be the longest mountain bike race I've ever done.

Feet are still covered in poison ivy. I think I'll leave my Keens at home this weekend.

Itching is nonexistent during the day but the moment I try to fall asleep they decide to become really itchy.

Not anymore.....202.

Stuck on 273 for 4 days, then quickly scored both 273 and 274. Stuck on 275 for most of the day, and then scored this evening. Thanks to some great friends, I'm now working on 276 (down to 1 twice so far, but refuse to use FB credits for that one more move I needed in both cases).

Only 2 FB friends in front of me now, but one is on the last published episode.

News Flash - CJ's life changes

As some of you know I've been struggling with a weight issue the last few years. I started working with a dietician 12 weeks ago through a program at work. The "program" is complete and I feel I passed with flying colors. I didn't meet all my goals, but have managed to change my life.

My goal was to lose 30 pounds which the dietician thought was pretty aggresive. I had a few misses along the way, but achieved 24 pounds (2 lbs / week average). I still have 30 to go, but am confident I'll make it.

I also started running using a Couch to 5K training program (10 weeks). I vividly remember week 1 with 8 reps of "Run 1 minute, Walk 2 minutes" and thinking I was going to die of a heart attack at Rep #6. Earlier this week I completed the 10 week program and am running 30 minutes straight and covering the 5K distance non-stop. I've registered to run my first 5K this Saturday.

Pushup Challenge - I've been doing a pushup trainer as a friendly competition with some of my karate instructors. This was a 6 week program and 4 weeks in I messed up my shoulder and have had to put this program on hold. I had a personal best of 70 straight before messing up my shoulder shoveling gravel. I'm hoping to be able to get back to pushups in the next few weeks with the goal of doing 100 straight.

I need a new belt and my pants don't fit. I've shed 4" in the waist and the pants I used to wear before buying new pants no longer fit. What a strange feeling to realize the orginal pants for 3 years ago are now too big.

The biggest difference? Notice I didn't really say anything about dieting. I've changed my life including my eating habits. It's a new adventure and I'm much happier with myself.

Why the long post? Many of you here and on Facebook have supported me in this journey by email, posts, texts, etc. and I want to say "Thank You". I'm not done and have a ways to go yet, but am confident I can do it thanks to the positive encouragement of the people around me.

CJ...congrats on the weight loss! Support no matter where it comes from is a very good thing. Even if it is thru words on a screen. I wish you only positive thoughts along your continuing journey.
Also FTP for Friday.

I had a job interview yesterday and it went well. Before I even got home I had gotten an email requesting a second interview. Yippee! I have another interview today but I don't think that I really want that job. Never hurts to check things out though.

That's great, CJ. I've always enjoyed cooking and cook with the seasons, but winter gets tough and there isn't as much of the leafy stuff I love available.

The Couch to 5K program sounds very much like the graduated running program Trekkin' the former cross country coach recommends. We used to run distance competitively but I've had issues ever since our second was born. I started the program again, but hate the heat. I'm going to try it again now that things are cooler.

Keep up the great work. Lifestyle change is the only way to change, whether it's weight, bad habits or anything you want to change.
