For some reason I always think of a davenport as one of those modern minimal things with legs from the 1950s.

Any age differences between "couch" and "sofa"? At least those two words I associate with something more comfortable than a davenport.

When I was about 5-6 we still had an icebox. I remember wrestling with my brother to see who would get to put the sign in the window for the iceman. Anyone know what the sign said?

I was the oldest one there at the Medicare Event in Appleton last weekend. I hope I'm not the oldest regular here, but I can't think of anyone older right now.

I do remember on "Lassie" when the family got a refrigerator to replace their icebox. Can't remember if that was a Jeff or Timmy episode, though... Confused

Oh, wait... I do believe that jar42 has you beat. But he's a driveling newbie, for the most part.

I'm not sure that I want to win this one, but can he beat 66 years 8 months?

My dad still has a real icebox, thou he doesn't use it as an icebox.
Made out of wood. My mom picked it up 20+ years ago. He uses it as a liquor cabinet.

We expect a full review later. I am a huge Clancy fan. I am unsure about this film, because it is an original script. Meaning, it is not based on any Clancy book. The only one I have not read is Command Authority, but it is on the shelf waiting patiently.

Ditto on the review from Mr. GT. I just finished Command Authority yesterday, BBG. (Clancy books are good reads during long winter cold spells.) If that is his last book (Clancy is now dead but that other guy was writing with him), it is a good solid finish to the whole Jack Ryan (Sr. and Jr.) series. No loose ends.

Yep. I won't be giving away his age at all because way back when there was a thread stealers' discussion about the bombing of Hiroshima, and jar's comment to that was: "That was one hell of a candle for my third birthday party."

Guess everyone can do the math... Wink
