It has a very "sore throat". Medication was applied to eliminate the "nasties", but it appears they killed a few critical cells first. Replacement will be required, but at least it's working for now so I can harvest all the important things (like my GSAK database). |

For Jim:
Be patient. Find ways to wash her hair and give her sponge baths. Do work for yourself around home. Encourage her. Keep a phone handy by her. And the TV remote. Be prepared to get up in the middle of the night to help her get to the bathroom the first few nights. Switch sides of the bed with her, if necessary. Make sure she has plenty to read or movies to watch. Decorate the house for Christmas yourself... with her guidance. Feed the cat. Bounce those babies for her until she can herself. Be patient.
You can do this even if she wasn't getting a new knee.
I know I would be one happy Hitwoman if Hitman did this for me. New knee or no new knee. |

I "love" Element Mobile. They had a "technical difficulty" on Monday and text messages outside their network got held up for 2 days. Now they're delivering them. The only gotcha is they're going in the same time interval they were originally sent and in the reverse order (i.e. newest first). That means it will be sometime tomorrow night when my wife gets the text message that I'm at the bar (which I actually sent Monday night). |

I just discovered that Element Mobile is giving a $10 credit to all their customers based on the issues from Monday.
You just have to fill in a couple of pieces of info to request the credit. Here's the link:

I heard "...beep, beep, beep..." off to the northwest. Must be CJ backing up his laptop!
Thanks for the advice on being a nurse's aide for a few weeks! It sounds like it could be fun! |

Why can't I even enjoy a simple cup of coffee without all the weirdos surrounding me?
Stopped at the Starry place and Susie Nerdette sits at the table next to me and unpacks more electronics than I've ever seen fit in 2 packbacks (yes 2) and a giant handbag. Susie commences to use the table and 2 chairs to hold all her gear.
Then Tommy McShack (yes he's in the starry place with his McD's uniform) sets up his laptop and tablet next to me. Plugs in the headphone and cranks it loud enough for me to hear. He proceeds to play the air guitar and air piano (or equivalent) and also laughs out loud.
Time to go to work ... |
