I would like to see more cachers from Wisconsin at the event next year.

This looks like it would be a lot of fun. Did you compete in any of the events, if so how did you do?

I did not compete. My son, TollyBrew, did for the second year and took second place for the second time. He talked it up so much is why I went down this year. In the morning they have the individual competition. Waypoints, topomaps and punch cards are given to the competitors and they are released at 8:00 AM. The non-competitors are then given the waypoints, topos and punch cards and released at 9:00 AM. This is for the first 30 freshly released waypoints. In the afternoon they do the same thing for the team competition. 1:00 PM for competitors and 2:00 PM for everyone else all going for 30 additional new permanent caches.
About the only downside to this is that with so many folks going for a limited number of caches you can almost follow the bodies and not use your GPS.

Each year there have been WI cachers in attendance. There were several groups that went the first year (3 years ago??), and many that went the last two years as well. We attended the first year, and even in its infancy, we noted how wonderful of an event it is. Very well run and very friendly groups down there welcoming us. Definitely an event to keep in mind year after year.
