Guinnes Beer

Ok all you beer drinkers I mean connoisseurs out there. My wife wants to know what the heck that little plastic rocket do-hickey is in her bottle of Guinnes. Is this thing legit, or is it there to sue for a life time supply?

How does the widget work?
The widget is a plastic moulded device which sits in the bottom of each can of Draught Guinness. When the can is opened, a small amount of beer and nitrogen, trapped in the widget, is forced out through the beer which creates the famous creamy head that you would find on a pint of Guinness served in a pub. The widget gives canned Draught Guinness the taste and texture of a pub poured pint at home.

The little widget in the can of Guinness holds a small amount of nitrogen. Upon the can being opened it senses the drop in pressure ans instantly injects the nitrogen into the beer. This puts all those very tiny bubbles into the beer.

Are you drinking this straight from the can or pouring it into a glass? The "recommended" way to drink this is crack it open and instantly pour into a glass. You will then notice that the entire glass is filled with foam. But right before your eyes the magic happens. It starts to settle out and viola your beer is ready to drink. It will give you a very creamy like head on the beer.

Yum I am ready to head to the beer depot now thanks.

Gosh you guys are quick. The wife says thank you to everyone. Is there still a chance of suing for a lifetime supply? I'm sure she would be more than willing to share.

We recycle cans. Do they have to be removed before take the cans in to get recycled? Tami

Hmm, methinks I need to buy some cans, though I'm pleased as punch to say there's nothing quite like having one pulled in a real Irish pub; in County Cork! I have the photos to prove it.

I don't know as I've ever enjoyed this fine brew from a can. Bottles or tap only. My favorite! (not that I'm much of a drinker, but it is my favorite!)

I did that Blarney Stone bit twice. Silly over-rated fun. I have been working on "fear of flying" Trekkin' to make a trip to the old sod with me.
There's a hiking tour run by one of the local profs I'd love to do.

The locals get all pissed up and then late at night go pee on the Blarney stone. How does that picture looknow?

Yeah, I've heard that, too, but thankfully, the lovely Irish rains had been falling before arrival...both times.

Also, I'm not sure how the locals could get up there after hours, with the gates and such. I'm sure where there's a will, there's a way.

It must be all the Guinness they drank. The stone didn't taste too bad, then again, it wasn't a French kiss.
