There needs to be a law that states that.....

We got about 8 inches here in central Wisconsin. Just a small amount of ice on top but not enough to make a big difference.

Ahhhh, it's official....the Ice Age Returneth and I DO NOT live in the Driftless area! After removing the 18"+ drift from the west side of my house and deck, snow removal has quickly moved into a clothing optional activity! But as my handsome neked friend, Candy Apple Green says, "How can anything that's clothing optional be bad???" Oh, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!! Wink

We only ended up with about 6 inches. There were some large drifts around so it's a little hard to tell exactly. At least there was no ice up here. This was a nice start to a hopefully snowier season (and it was enough to get my kids very excited!). Very Happy

Veni, vidi, sivi. Zuma and Team Honeybunnies are out to claim another DeLorme challange, and I was bumming along.

First official trip down to Illinois to work some pages, and we had to pick the day a vicious ice storm moves thru the area. By the end of the day, we were walking on grass encrusted with ice. Getting in and out of the car was a challenge, because everything was coated with ice. Ice began blowing down from the tree limbs, and hitting us on the head. A very strong wind would literally blow us across the ice coated parking lots.

Did I mention all the ICE we encountered.......??? I'm not sure if Zuma and THB were the crazy ones, or if I was for going along.

Day two of the trip proved much better, with most of the ice melted, and the roads clear. The temperature kept dropping all day, and the winds increased, so that by dark it was bitter cold, and you were likely to be blown off your feet if you were not careful.

Glad you guys were able to make it back safely. I looked at the caches in our 50 mile radius, and except for two in the marsh, not a single one was found since Friday. We have just a few left to do, all of them at the outer edges of that 50, and in really remote locations. Like, with bad roads when the weather is GOOD!

Dick is getting twitchy after a week without caches. Rolling Eyes

Only a fool would cache in the middle of an ice storm. Give me 6 inches of snow anyday rather than a half inch of ice coating everything. The driving was treacherous, but walking on cement was even more of a killer. Just glare ice everywhere.

But I guess what doesnt kill ya, makes ya stronger. But man, caching in an ice storm sure wasnt too bright. Still, I guess it is a bit better than a day at work.

I guess I can be the first one to comment about the extreme accuracy of meteorologists! Rolling Eyes

Over the weekend we were supposed to get 10-16 inches and we got 6.
Today, we were supposed to get 3-5 inches and we got another 6 inches.

At least we're getting snow (which is good for the local economy) after several brown winters. Very Happy
