Why is it everytime I read these forums I go away with this tune playing over and over in my head.
"Keep on caching in the free world! duh duh duh duh duh duh duh..." (It sounds really good in my head btw)
I was just upstairs getting coffee ready for tomorrow and I realized I had been singing this line over and over in my head ever since I had read the forums earlier this evening. Neil Young is living in my head. What a strange place for him to be. And apparently he likes to geocache.
Is that viral marketing or something? I think I read something on CNN about it.
Or maybe it's the beer... |

That's a lot better than some of the ditties that get stuck in your head, and refuse to get out until replaced by another irritating song.
So, what is your favorite ditty to get stuck in someone elses head? |

LOL. Here are the full lyrics to Cachin In The Free World. The song was written by the great Neil Young, and only slightly modified by me:
There's colors on the street
Red, white and blue
People shufflin' thru woods
People walkin' in their shoes
But there's a warnin' sign
on the trail ahead
There's a lot of people sayin'
there's somethin at ground zero
Don't feel like a geek,
but I am to them
So I try to forget it,
any way I can.
Keep on cachin' in the free world,
Keep on cachin' in the free world
Keep on cachin' in the free world,
Keep on cachin' in the free world.
I see a woman in the night
With a light in her hand
Under an old street light
Near a garbage can
Now she puts the map away,
and she's gone to get a hit
She hates skirt lifters,
and what she's done to it
That's one more log
that will never get signed
Never be cache of the month,
never get to be cool.
Keep on cachin' in the free world,
Keep on cachin' in the free world
Keep on cachin' in the free world,
Keep on cachin' in the free world.
We got a thousand places to find
For the cachin man
We got a kinder, gentler,
Garmin in our hand
We got army navy stores
and toilet paper
Got green ammo boxes
for all to seek
Got a man of the people,
says keep hope alive
Got fuel to burn,
got roads to drive.
Keep on cachin' in the free world,
Keep on cachin' in the free world
Keep on cachin' in the free world,
Keep on cachin' in the free world. |

Man....... today I caught myself humming "If I only had a Brain" from the Wizard of Oz.
My only hope was it got someone else humming it too. |

Yesterday I was relieved as "Loillipop" finally quit running through my head (thanks greyhounder). Then on my way home from work I turned on the radio and you know what I heard?
"Rocking in the Free World"!
Geesh...I can't win |

Shimmy Shimmy Ko-Ko-Bop
Shimmy Shimmy Bop
Shimmy Shimmy Ko-Ko-Bop
Shimmy Shimmy Bop
Sittin’ in a native hut
All alone and blue
Sittin’ in a native hut
Wonderin’ what to do
Along came a native girl
Did a native dance
It was like in paradise
Put me in a trance |

I just change tunes with a head tilt or a mood swing. Scary when the theme song from the Omen starts to play..... :-O |

The other day the kids and I were at the store, and I would occasionally mention Hot Pockets, and various other pockets in the style of Jim Gaffigan. In the next five minutes, we overheard two other groups of shoppers talking about purchasing Hot Pockets. Viral.
