Careers as Luthiers and Others That Our Users Here Have

In appreciation to USER Frizz I "borrowed" some information on an Interesting Career that might be considered by others.

Become a "LUTHIER" .. a REPAIR CRAFTSMAN of String Musical Instruments. My experience was only as a Violin student through my school years. I experienced the need of a Luthier to refurbish my fiddle.. and give it a Strad appearance.
Here is one old Work Shop.

Never saw a "Harp.. Guitar" before. It looks pregnant and beautiful. I wonder what it sounds like. ... Question

Not certain this Guitar Player, who would have been 73 old this year .... had any Guitars repaired at the Work Shop... but, he sure helped sell a lot of them.

If he were living today (at 73) what lyrics would he have written for this particular song... "ARE YOU LONESOME TONIGHT" for the SENIOR CITIZEN VERSION of today. Check it out.

Speaking of guitars and guitar players, Jeff Healey passed away yesterday from cancer at the young age of 41.

Thanks for the info ... Jeff healey died a little too young ... was a Canadian blind jazz and blues singer-rock guitarist. For those not too familiar with him here is one photo I retrieved.

Does my Mountain Hammered Dulcimer fit in this category?? I hiope it never needs repair. It was a bear getting tuned in. I bought a handmade on while in Colorado in December. Now if I could get UN-lazy and start reading music instead of playing by ear. LOL I'll call upon Frizz to fix `er right up then Wink

Reading up on Luthiers and their trade, I am tempted to build my own violin. What an achievement that would be..., now if I could only play the violin, it would really be great.

Why not give making your own a chance? You can do it.. You don't have to be as expert as this guy.

Hey Fu, I have three mountain dulcimers! Maybe we can start a WGA band, LOL. Create some kind of cache with a logging requirement of playing "Rock of Ages" (in honor of our least favorite kind of hide!)

3?? KEWL!! Are they regular Moutnain dulcimers or hammered??? I was so excited about getting my first. Do you give lessons?? I need lessons BAD!!! LOL Would be a long way to drive to learn Very Happy

I'm all for a stringed band. I need a case for this thing though. Not the easiest to lug around. I can manage "Rock of Ages a Tribute to our Least Favorite Caches" Heck.. I'm trying to learn "Music Box Dancer" by ear!!
