Hello all,

I am posting because I was wondering if there was anyone out there that knows where I can find how to better use my 210. I know it is not the greatest unit in the world for geocaching, but it's what I got. Maybe one of the members uses this unit and has some good advice. Thanks for the help in advance. Very Happy

Hey Digger00,
I actually just lost a 210 and replaced it with a 400. If you have the software disk for the geocache manager, It is not difficult to get going with loading the unit. If you are utilizing GC.com and are a Premium member, you can build pocket queries (PQs) that can be loaded to the 210. The only difficulty with the 210 (or any eXplorist unit) is that each geocache file can only contain 200 entries. so be sure to limit your PQs to 200 caches. GC.com will email you a zip file that will need to be extracted and then opened in the Geocache Manager software. once the file is opened in the program, it can be loaded to the unit. On the unit, you can set your preferences, active setup, geocache file: On and select the file you want to use depending on your location and what queries you may have loaded. When you set up your queries, you may need to overlap areas to be sure you don't miss any caches but after you have some of the caches found, run the queries again filtering those found and resave the files on the unit. this will continue to expand the radius of the query as you find more and more within each 200 cache file.
Hope this helps.

We use a eXplorist 210...I know people may not think it is the greatest unit, but I LOVE IT!!! You can have your color screens and all of the bells and whistles...our 210 is all we need...it has the only three things we need....

1) You can download caches directly into it!

2) It is easy to use

3) It finds GEOCACHES!

We have thought about getting a better/newer model...but WHY, this one does everything that we need. If you pair the 210 with our Palm, it is unstoppable! If you have some specific questions, just PM me, and I will be more than happy to help.
