Anyone know of any classes or anything where I could get some help learning my GPS? Manuals are great but for us visual learners we need actual human contact when we have questions.

Thanks

Depending on where you live...Gander Mountain stores often have seminars at different times of the year. GPS is one that appears often.

I've also seen GPS seminars at boating stores such as West Marine in Milwaukee
area.

If you come to the WGA geo-picnic this coming Sunday at Lapham Peak State Park, I'll bet you can find several geocachers who would be more than happy to give you pointers on how to use your GPSR. Most experienced geocachers probably know their way around their GPSRs better than most retail store salespersons. Image

For goodness sake, after 900 finds you are having troubles figuring out your GPS? Image

(raises her hand to volunteer) I'll help him (grins).. will also teach him about BEARINGS. I still have trouble with that .. (now knows it deals with the 360 degrees on a compass but can't do it on the GPS) I'd love to know how to set up a bearing target away from ground zero (I know there's a name for doing that)
Oh.. and I didn't do 900 caches (grins)...YET... All I have left undone (in my safety zone below hwy29) is just a cluster of SWern ones, a thin ribbon from Beaver Dam to Ozaukee County, and Door County.. so UPNORTH I'll go before hunting season kicks in.
