Does anyone know howlong it takes to get a cache approved? I placed some with Team Dew and they were approved very quickly. I placed another and they sent a message about the wording they didnt like, we changed it and it was up right away. I placed one this weekend and have yet to hear from anyone or have it approved? My husband thinks people must be on vacation. |

Each cache placed must be thorouly checked for a variety of criteria. Socko's 50 cache special took three months to get approved.
Weekends can be a busy time for the admins that do the approving. Later in the week, a cache may be approved more rapidly. I am sure that it will be approved shortly or you will hear from them. It'll probably be ready for next weekend (a guess).

Myself, the main approver for Wisconsin, actually went out Geocaching for the first time in months.
Late Sunday morning I approved all the caches waiting to be approved. I was hiding caches for the picnic on Monday and riding roller coasters on Tuesday.
I usually get them done the same day they are submitted, unless a the cache is more complicated. Then it may take a couple days.

Thanks for the help getting it through... sorry I was impatient, all the others we have done were like the same day they were approved. Do you go out and do each cache to make sure everything is right with them? |

No, we don't actually visit the cache locations. We review the maps, clues, proximity to others caches, and make sure it isn't in a State Natural Area. We make sure it conforms to all the Geocaching.com rules, then approve it if everything looks good. It can take anywhere from 10 mins to several days to review any particular cache, depending on it's complexity. |

SkreeminWeezul, A few days ago I posted a note on a cache that you and Dew submitted. Please reply ASAP so I can review the cache.
Thanks,

I sent a message to you last night about the coordinates and replied to Dale's message today. I did send it to the address you sent to Team Dew. |
