Hey gotta run, I can just lead the tour group to find Spagetti if you get sick of the grid. (I'm imagining the steam rolling about now...)
I'm just kidding.
Last night's local (Appleton) weatherman said bitter cold will end on Friday and Saturday and Sunday will be only slightly colder than "normal" mid-january conditions. Also looks like small amount of snow to fall on Saturday. To me this sounds like perfect bowling weather. |

Honestly, I think it would be faster to create a mashup between existing finals and waypoints within the 2-mile circle of the dummy coordinates and then wander around in the spaces left over. |

I'd be up for tagging along to do these caches as well. I'm getting caching fever being stuck in the house..... |

My plan was to find Spaghetti, Something Technical, and maybe On Wisconsin on Saturday. Now, I haven't solved Carol yet, but it would be great to find that one too - even though it's not "lonely". I'll work on the puzzle this week and if the scheduling works out for me, I'll tag along too. |

Jen, You don't have to work on that puzzle. I solved it. marc shares solves! I generally don't give out solves, but knowing the owner, it isn't pulling at my caching ethics so much, LOL.
We aren't chasing any Lonelies, ironically enough, considering the reason for heading up that way in the first place! |

Eh, I figured it out anyway.
I just can't leave a puzzle unsolved. Especially when the alternative is cleaning the house. |

For me it certainly would have. That puzzle was the ultimate in endurance for me. Most other "difficult" or cryptic puzzles I just stare at a while here and there and either A. Forget about them forever or B. Luck into solving them or someone else helps me. This particular one pulled at me because solving it is right there in front of you. I am a research nut. There is no "mystery" on how it needs to be solved. You just have to research until you can't research anymore and come up with some great plan for keeping track of who goes where and who overlaps. I made the terrible "mistake" of finding more in common (supporting roles on page 2 of the list so to speak) than the cache owner which had to be corrected by him or I would never have completed the matrix.
The good thing is the difficulty is not in the hide.
Man, with all these folks coming to town eyeing up these difficult Appleton lonely's the scoreboard might be a' changin' come next week! |

So what's the plan here Gwyn? "Carol" after the event while it's still light and the letterbox night cache Saturday evening? |

We may stay overnight if we can find affordable lodging. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Since it's only a 1-1/2 hour drive for us we don't want to spend more than $75. Otherwise we'll head back and cache at home on Sunday. |

Got it! Honestly, if I never see the name Lee Cobb again it will be too soon. And who knew so darn many people worked with James Stewart? This is like the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon on steroids.
Oh crap, did I just give s|s a new idea? |

Sounds like a good plan...how long is the event gonna last, as I would like to get out in cache (assuming it warms up). Tried to cache today, and -40 windchill and 20 inches of snow makes for tough caching.

Why don't we ask those in the know how long we can expect to hunt for marc's and plan to head out accordingly? We're hoping to also grab some numbers while we're up there, since for the past month, most days have been 2-5 finds, with one day a whopping 10! We ran a PQ with the snowflake attribute, and I have to sift through now which of those are puzzles I want to save for another time. Enough with the hardcore caches for a time! When it gets like this, give us some easy runs through the cemeteries and the like!
We're looking forward to seeing many old friends and meeting a bunch of new ones, too!
Dick even passed on two FTF opportunities locally last night. He says anyone who wants to get them, will earn them!

Mister Greenthumb, I think we stayed at a Super 8 on College Avenue last summer that wasn't too pricey. Look for that Visitors Bureau cache---it was across from there, just off 41. Hope you can make it! |
