Ed's Lake

If you are up for a day of hiking and want to get a whole bunch of caches on one trail, Ed's Lake near Wabeno has 11 caches on one trail and it can be done in about 2 hours. I went there Saturday with Sweetlife and we had a blast finding them all. Recommend to do in fall and spring as the park will be thick with skeeters and ticks in the summer.

Start of the trail is at GC1X5D0 and go from there. $5 fee to use the trail though certain passes are also accepted.

We walked West from the parking area an did the loop that way, either way you walk there is some hills to go up or down, terrain is not too terrible, and was about a 3.5 - 4 mile total walk

I walked west as well when I did this series. I should have waited for a nice fall day but the lure of the FTF's had me doing these on a rainy day. I will let the owner know that her Eds Lake series has been recommended on the site.

My family and I went up that direction several weeks ago and I was looking at this series at the time. Unfortuantely, the weather was cold and rainy and I didn't think we'd be up for a 2 hour walk through that... someday though.. someday!

Barry and I went back to Ed's Lake today. Since we were there almost a couple years ago, 13 more caches was placed for a total of 24 caches on this trail. Barry and I had fun getting the 13 caches in addition to the ones we got a couple years ago.

A recommended series for cachers who love to hike and cache. Pack a lunch and take some water with you as all 24 caches may take 5 to 6 hours at the most.

Glad to hear there is another excuse to head up tp Ed's Lake. This was one of the best trail series I have done so far. Saw lots of wildlife, the trails are well marked and the area is simply beautiful. Looking forward to going back and doing this in a few weeks.

Giving this one a bump. Highly recommended if you have kids who like to find a cache every 10 minutes or so. Typical northwoods up-and-down-the-hills terrain.

Ate enough blackberries to...well, we ate a lot of blackberries.

Looks like 5 more caches popped up on that trail since Barry and I visited it a few months ago. Damn you, TC - lol. Gives me a reason to go back and explore the trail again Smile

Yes, it is a great series.
