Within a very short time (maybe this week), Geocaching Headquarters has calculated that the 1 MILLIONTH geocache in the U.S. will be active. 1 MILLION US Geocaches!
In honor of this great achievement, there has to be a celebration, so the staff at Geocaching.com has poured over all of the incredible caches and decided to honor 8 of the Most Amazing Geocaches in the US for Beginners.
Not surprisingly, Wisconsin is home to one of those 8 special caches, with the honor going to GC3K9TV What the CLUCK! by Stewzoo1. In honor of this distinction, the WGA along with Geocaching Headquarters will be hosting an event to recognize their achievement.
Where: Tendick Park, Saukville, WI
When: September 21
Time: 3 pm- 5 pm
Who: Open to all geocachers, families, and anyone interested in learning about geocaching
What: GC5CDBD 1 of the Most Amazing Beginner Geocaches – WI
Want to be a part of this, here is the plan:
We will get together at Tendick Park for a little celebration, including fun giveaways from Geocaching HQ. Those new to geocaching are invited to attend. We’ll talk about geocaching, what makes a good beginner geocache, get to know each other, and swap stories from the geocaching trail, maybe even toss in a Geocaching 101 class and possibly a couple surprises just for fun.
After the event, we’ll all hop in our cars and take the short drive to GC3K9TV What the CLUCK! to experience one of the most amazing geocaches in the US for beginners.
…and of course, geocaching beginners are welcome!
