Please Welcome Kelly King (king54130)

In following the recently adopted WGA Bylaw in regards to vacated board positions, we would like to welcome Kelly King as the newest member of the WGA Board of Directors. Kelly has been volunteering her time helping the WGA over the past years. She is going to make a great addition to an already awesome team.

In her own words, “I am excited to join the BOD! I hope to make an impact for the members by being accessible, finding ways to grow our membership and helping current members become more immersed in the WGA.

I look forward to collaborating with the other Board members to make the WGA the best it can be!”

Thank you for accepting the position, and congratulations Kelly!

It’s the Greatest Show in Wisconsin

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages, I present to you for your competitive enjoyment, The Wisconsin Geocaching Association’s 2017-2018 Picnic to Picnic Travel Bug Race. Over the past couple of months, dozens of squirrels have been tasked to repair the damaged hypertext that makes up our Travel Bug infrastructure. Their challenge, to build it bigger, stronger, faster. Their success…well, they’re squirrels. They got it running. Now that everything seems to be on the up and up, get ready to enjoy another year of what can only be described as the most frustrating excitement known to a geocacher, a stuck Travel Bug. Thank you all for your patience as our rodents got all the kinks worked out of this year’s race.

Proposed Changes to the WGA Bylaws

The Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Geocaching Association is proposing a change to the current bylaws to address vacancies in the Board of Directors that may come about from time to time. This proposal will be available for comment for a period of no less than seven days. After this comment period, the Board of Directors will vote on adoption of this amendment. Please take some time to read the proposal and comment on it so we have plenty of feedback from our membership to make the best decision we can. The proposal can be found in the forums at:

Board Member Vacancy Proposed Bylaws Change

Board of Director Changes

It is with much sadness that we have to announce the resignation of a respected and trusted WGA Board Member. His presence will be sorely missed as he has been an integral part of this past year. We wish MASKinWI (Aaron Wurster) all of the best in his future endeavors. With his departure, the remaining BOD is looking to fill his vacant position for the following year.

Due to the current ambiguous wording of the bylaws and past precedence, we have decided to amend the bylaws for filling this vacancy. These proposed bylaw changes will be posted to the WGA website in the coming days. This will be open for comments for no less than seven days. After seven days is up, the remaining BOD will vote on the change while taking into consideration the thoughts and feelings of the entire membership. Please note that all thoughts and comments that wish to be considered must be put on the website. Posts on social media will be directed to be reposted to the website.

Again, we would like to thank Aaron for all the hard work he has done this past year and we wish him well.
