Northern Kettle Moraine Unit Cache Quest #2

The Wisconsin DNR, Northern Kettle Moraine Unit specifically, is looking once again for the help of the WGA members to aid in the 2nd annual cache quest they would like to hold during the free fishing/state park weekend. We need to know if you are interested by February 1, 2018, to make this dream a reality once again. One of the goals of the WGA is to work closely with the WDNR and as a group, we need to hold true to this goal. If you are interested, please email [email protected] for more details. The details we have so far are posted below. We need hiders, timers, Geo-101 presenters, and just regular ordinary cachers with no special skills to be interested in donating their time.

Let’s do this you guys!

“I was wondering if you and your great group of geocachers would be willing and able to help orchestrate another Cache Quest at the Kettle Moraine State Forest – Northern Unit.  We would have a different theme than last year, but I was thinking something similar as last year.  If you have other ideas,  I am absolutely open to them.

The weekend I was looking at was the first weekend in June (June 2 and 3) as this is the free weekend for the State Park System (no stickers required).  If this weekend doesn’t work for you, we certainly could look another weekend.

If you could please let me know either way by February 1, that would be awesome!

Thank you so much for your time and consideration!”

VOTING IS OPEN!

Have you read all of the candidate’s responses to the questions? Have you made up your mind who you’d like to see lead the WGA on the Board of Directors? You have until February 11, 2018, to cast your vote.

Good luck to all of the nominees.

CALLING ALL MEMBERS!

There are 3 weeks left to nominate for the open WGA Board of Director positions. There are 5 open seats up for grabs for the next term. However, there are only 2 candidates that will be on the ballot as of today. We need your help! We urge you to please, please consider running for the board. It’s not hard to be a BOD, it just takes a bit of time with being actively engaged and involved with all of the happenings of the WGA throughout the year. This means you have a direct voice in event locations, new apparel, new SWAG, and new ideas. It means helping your fellow WGA Members with their events and promoting them.

It also means participating in the foundation on which the Wisconsin Geocaching Association was founded:

“Our purpose is to plan geocaching events in Wisconsin that are open to everyone who wishes to sign up and participate. In turn, the events we plan are designed for:

  • Meeting people
  • Communication
  • Education
  • Having fun!”

Elections begin in February. We are looking forward to the newly inducted BOD. If you have any questions, feel free to contact a current or prior BOD with questions.
