SAVE THE DATE! September 21, 2019The 2019 WGA Fall Picnic will be held at Lakeview Park in Rib Lake, WI. The shelter building has been reserved, and the BOD is working on details for the event. More information about the park can be found at https://www.riblakewisconsin.com/accommodations/ . We look forward to seeing you there!
Every week the WGA likes to highlight upcoming events. We see that the engagement has gone down significantly over the past few years. Most of our non-WGA posts seem to be better reaching to the members. Would you like us to continue posting each week? What would you like us to highlight each week? We want and need to hear your comments.
June 2019 update. With several people recently creating their very first pathtag, we’re now up to 112 known Wisconsin-based geocachers that have created a pathtag, past and present. Shown here is one from each of them. Can you think of any other Wisconsin geocachers or geocaching teams missing from the list?
We are pretty sure that a lot of CO’s get this comment on logs: “Found it but forgot a pen so I couldn’t sign”.
How do you handle this situation when you get a “Found It” when a cacher forgets to bring a writing utensil? Do you have any suggestions for those who forget a pen or pencil on how to sign the logbook without one?
As the weather began to warm up, May saw more LCG submissions, with a total of 24 reports. Ten of those were submitted by Lacknothing, who led the scoreboard with 182 points. Second was Scooter2010 with 118.5 points. Knoffer came in third with 70 points.
With her second monthly win, Lacknothing tops the leader board for the year with 384.5 points. There is a lot of time left in the year, though, and it is anybody’s game. If you haven’t played the LCG, you can learn more about it at https://www.wi-geocaching.com/wga-lonely-cache-game/?_tab=main . So get out there and help keep our caches active.
