IT’S TIME TO VOTE

Voting for the 2020-2021 BOD is now open. Read the candidates’ answers on the Candidates Corner forum on the WGA website and make your vote. You will not be able to vote unless your account is in good standing. Now’s the time to renew your FREE WGA membership and make your voice heard.

If you have any issues, please contact the current BOD to get your account updated. We are all here to help.

We Have An Election Now

With just over a day to go, we officially have six candidates for five open board seats. Our election officially starts at 6:00 PM CST on Saturday, January 25, 2020. (This happens to be 0000 hours Coordinated Universal Time if anyone is wondering.) It’s time to head on over to Candidate’s Corner on the website forums and read about all of our amazing candidates. If you have a question for them, don’t be shy, go ahead and ask it in the forums. Just remember, this is a place for questions to the candidates and their answers. Any commentary regarding questions or responses from those that aren’t candidates will be removed from the topics. Let’s rock the polls.

2 WEEKS REMAIN . . .

As of today, we only have 4 awesome people from our membership running for the 2020-2022 WGA BOD. Mind you there are 5 open positions on the board this year. Without another person throwing their hat into the ring, there will be one vacant seat on the BOD. The BOD can function as such by following Roberts Rules of Order with the elected President being a tie-breaking vote for any motions. But, what fun would that be?

The BOD has listened to and taken into consideration everyone’s thoughts and ideas about what the WGA should be doing and where we should be heading in the future. A lot of you have great ideas and it would be even greater if you brought those things to the board by becoming one of them.

We need at least one more person to listen to the membership and put these ideas into motion by running. Be the voice for your area. PLEASE consider running. It could probably be one of the best decisions you’ve ever made in your geocaching story.

There are two weeks left of nominations before voting begins. And, as a reminder, if you are already on the ballot, make sure to go to Candidates Corner (https://www.wi-geocaching.com/forums/forum/the-wisconsin-geocaching-association/candidates-corner-2020/) on the website to introduce yourself and let the membership know why you would make an incredible BOD. Even if you are not running, this is also the place to ask candidate questions so you can learn about those that will be representing you and your area.

I/We urge you to become involved in the WGA. This is YOUR association. Make your voice heard.
