The newest caches I am in the process of doing involve biking.
The first shall be “Le Tour De Janesville – Leg 1”. This shall be a 7 1/2 mile round trip through the outwash plain from the last glacier in Wisconsin. It will be a multi-cache with 5 phases.
The cache is already in place and only awaits clues at the multi stations, which I intend to do tomorrow evening.
If anyone has a big urge to test it out this weekend, please let me know and I will make you my beta tester.
I will submit it as a cache Saturday sometime.05/02/2003 at 1:17 pm #1735345Do people like these? I’ve been planning a multicache along the Root River Pathway in Racine which, while it can be done by driving from point to point, would be better done on a bike. I’ve just wondered how many people would bring a bike along with them to do a cache and how many would just drive?

I set up a similar one between Cedarburg and Port Washington called OIT Trailside. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=36035
05/02/2003 at 6:55 pm #1735347Just printed off Ken’s Biking Cache – will add it to my spring list – sounds like a great afternoon outing.
Get yours going Cheesehead Dave – like the field of dreams – make it and they will come.05/03/2003 at 2:06 am #1735348Le Tour is all set now and has been submitted. It includes alternate endings (two of them) just for those hikers who would enjoy the cache but not the bike ride.
I have also placed the final cache on a slope so that Pharmteam has something to slide down when done– not a very big slope though – they might have more fun on the slide nearby. And for those who love my water caches– you will not be disappointed – the final approach has you walking across rocks over a small stream – easy enough for small children and slow witted adults and only 6 inches deep. Sorry but you will not need to do a running jump over this one.05/05/2003 at 8:23 pm #1735349I did the OIT Trailside cache and had great fun doing it. I look forward to doing more bike trail caches in the future. I might set one up myself.
