What would cause a person to drive 2700+ miles in 9 days, spend more then 200 hours sitting on a bike, and travel more then 8,500 miles in a year??? The 2003 Wisconsin Highways Motorcycling Challenge of course!
Early this year, our Treasurer, Jeremy Vechinski set out to do what no man has done before. His goal: Ride his motorcycle on every single numbered highway in the state of Wisconsin, and visit each of Wi’s 72 counties before the end of the year. Back in early Semptember, he completed his goal by driving each of the 181 numbered highways in the state.
During the 181 traveled highways and 72 counties visited, he racked up some impressive stats:
- 2,700 miles driven in a 9 day period
- 200 hours riding
- 8,500 total miles driven
- Traveled each of the 181 numbered highways
- Visited 72 counties
Today as I prepare my bike for storage, I decided to check on Jeremy’s progress and learned he completed this self-imposed challenge months ago. I personally feel it’s impressive to set such a goal and actually complete it. On top of that, his details to record keeping is amazing. I’m glad I had a chance to ride with you and knock off a few of the highways on our trip to Devil’s Lake.
Kudos Jeremy, congrats !!
