Starting Friday evening, there will be a new contest taking place. Each evening/night I will be posting a random question that is related to one of the following topics-
1. Wisconsin Geocachers and Geocaches
2. Wisconsin Geography/Topography
3. Wisconsin State HistoryThe questions will all vary in difficulty, and the first 3 team’s correct responses will receive points for their correct answer- 3 points for the first correct answer, 2 for the second, 1 for the third. Points updates will be posted along with the next question.
Contestants may enter the contest at any time. Once the question is posted, it will become null and void upon the posting of the next question, so generally speaking you have about 24 hours to submit an answer.
The first player to reach a total of 50 points will be declared the winner.
In order to win, you must be a WGA member with a Wisconsin cache find within the previous 30 days.
Once the question is posted, DO NOT post your answer on the boards. E-MAIL your WGA username along with your answer to
[email protected]The winner of this contest will receive a $25 gift certificate for Gander Mountain and an ammo box cache stocked and ready for hiding!
Let the Games Begin
02/22/2005 at 1:52 am #1737779Excellent idea for increasing interest in the website, Russ! Now I’ll have to take my laptop skiing this week so I can read your Friday question (while I nurse my bruises.) Thanks for doing this! – Ruth
02/22/2005 at 3:21 am #1737780Sounds like fun. Will the questions be posted in the ‘Announcement’ section, or will they be under a separate section?
02/25/2005 at 4:35 am #1737781The contest will begin tomorrow night. There will be a new thread started in the “General” forum that will recap the contest and the first question will be posted. There will also be one added topic for possible contest questions that will involve GPSr’s and using coordinates/maps.
I hope that everyone enjoys the challenge!
