11/26/2005 at 11:40 pm #1719925I know Ken already posted this elsewhere, but I wanted to put something in the official Announcements forum and also thank some people.
This morning (and into the afternoon
) in New Berlin, we had the geocoin shipping party to prepare the 1400+ coins and package up the 300+ orders. Thanks to the following folks for giving up more than 4 hours of their holiday weekend to help with the shipping:
- Ken Braband
- Brian Geoffrey
- Brian and Becky Jansen
- Jeff Rahmlow and crew (Jeff please post the names of the two GeoPinks and their friend… these girls are the reason we got done before dark!)
- Jeremy Vechinski
We also need to thank the folks at the New Berlin post office for not freaking out when we arrived with a Suburban full of packages that needed to be sent out.
If you ordered coins, you should receive an email with your delivery confirmation number by the end of the day. Orders of 5 or more coins will arrive via Priority Mail by Wednesday, and smaller orders may take up to a week to arrive via first class mail.

11/26/2005 at 11:54 pm #1738462Thank you very much for everyone giving up time during the holiday weekend to do this. I can’t wait to get my coins!
Also, thank you very much for keeping everyone very well informed throughout the entire process. Creation through shipping, it was great to be able to offer opinions and know what the status was of the project.
Way to go![This message has been edited by purpleartichoke (edited 11-26-2005).]
11/27/2005 at 12:06 am #1738463Thanks to all who helped out. Now THAT’s teamwork. Appreciate all ya did to get us our coins.
Already have one promised to the Admin/Approver from the North Central region of Florida. He was kind enough drag me around for a day and suffered monitary damages, by getting a parking ticket on one of our runs. It’s the LEAST I can do after that happening.
Big thanks to y’all again!!
11/27/2005 at 1:49 am #1738464The girls (Beth – “Can’t sit still”, and my two Sara and Audrey – MiniPinks) couldn’t stop telling us how much fun they thought it was to do the assembly line, tape up packages, put stickers on coins, count coins for the boxes, etc.
They really had a blast and I’m glad they were along, they really kept the mood upbeat and helped out tremendously with no major mishaps! (Only a minor panic when the power fluctuated and I coulnd’t immediately locate Audrey.)
The coins really look great and I really appreciate the efforts put forth by jveschinski and Tie in getting these things minted and shipped! Way to go!

Co-conspirator to make the world a better place…11/28/2005 at 8:43 pm #1738465Received my geocoins today! Great packaging and shipping job guys and gals! They arrived in pristine condition. Thanks for all your hard work!!!
Katrina.11/28/2005 at 9:34 pm #1738466Mine came too!
Yes, very well packed and labeled.I’m pleasantly surprised at the quality of the coins! They are very thick and deeply engraved. I anticipated something much more flimsy for the reasonable price.
11/28/2005 at 10:07 pm #1738467Did I miss the post where it said I could still pick one or two up? I was kinda out of town when the whole ordering thing went down……
11/28/2005 at 10:25 pm #1738468Very nice! Thanks!
11/28/2005 at 10:27 pm #1738469Due to a mixup at Groundspeak, our custom icon didn’t make it onto the geocaching.com site, but soon will. For now, the icon will show up as a standard geocoin icon on the profiles and cache pages.
Here’s what the icons look like….
