Please vote now for the 2005 Cache of the Year. You can find the voting form on the Cache of the Year page.

Link to Cache of the Year Page

The 12 Cache of the Month winners in 2005 are eligible for this honor… with all these great caches it will be hard to select a single one as being the “best of the best” (but you’ll have try!).

Voting will be closed on January 31st.

    bump

23 votes. Is that all the people that log onto the WGA site and forums? I think we can get a few more.

Encourage your fellow geocaching friends to vote too. There has to be at least one cache on that list that more people have done that they could vote for.

    These caches need you!

I’m holding my vote for now in hopes of getting one or two more done before having to chose before the end of the month. Anyone out there want to head up to Appleton on the 23rd? (yeah, it’s a Monday, but the kids are out of school.)

One last bump. We currently have a tie for Cache of the Year… I’m sure one of the two leaders would appreciate an (unlucky) 13th vote.

Do you mean only 12 people voted?

No, the two leading candidates had 12 votes a piece… by my count, 50 votes have been cast for Cache of the Year so far.

And now the two leaders are tied at 13 each.

I have no clue if I voted or not. My vote never shows in red (or whatever) like it says it should.

Is there any sort of fix for this? I don’t want to vote twice. and so sometimes I don’t vote at all (only because I can’t remember if I voted before.)

Just checked and yes, greyhounder, you cast an early ballot on 01-01-06.

I’ve been keeping an eye on this one because of the close race so even if you voted again, I’d catch you in the act and be forced to put you before the COTY Tribunal to plead your case.

But I would have brought yummy chocolate chip cookies to the tribunal…..

I voted so early! Obviously I wasn’t recoving from anything exciting from New Year’s Eve.

Just promise to bring them to the board meeting when you get elected and I might look the other way…

Yes, there was a “bug” where the cache name was sometimes not being highlighted in red after a vote was cast. Miata let me know about this and it was fixed a week or two ago.

I can tell you that you won’t be able to vote for COTM/COTY twice in the future, will have information on which cache you voted for, and have the capability to delete your vote and vote for a different cache.

Can we see a list of caches and the votes they received? I know it was close, and I’m interested in how so….

At 12:00 AM, Bob and I pulled the list and saved it as a Word Doc. At this point the voting should have been over, so it should be accurate. Anyone interested in what we saved can e-mail the request to us @ meheula at wi dot rr dot com. We’ll e-mail it to you. Or, one can simply wait for the “official” results to be posted. Hopefully that won’t take long.
