We’re looking for your help. We were recently contacted by a reporter from the Racine Journal Times to do an article on geocaching. We jumped at the opportunity to spread the word. A 15 minutes phone conversation has already been had with him to explain the basics of the sport. He’s interested in learning more and wants to go out on a cache or two to see what it’s really like.
Here’s our problems—we need help. The article he’d like to print is about a ‘family-friendly’ activity. He’s interested in featuring us, but would also like to see a family–with kids–in action. Due to journalistic ethics, we can’t “stage” a caching event just for him, but make it look like we were already planning an outing and he’d tag along (probably with a staff photographer).
So….we’re looking for a Racine/Kenosha area family that might be interested in joining us for a weeknight cache outing. The reporter is available most nights, except Mondays and Wednesdays. He’d like to do caches in Racine. We spoke with him a few days ago and need to get back to him soon.
If you are in the Racine/Kenosha/Oak Creek area and are interested in caching in Racine sometime the week of August 1st, please let us know asap so we can get on his calendar.
Feel free to post here, or send us an e-mail at [email protected].
Thanks.
Hmm… I should come along and have him take pictures of me and the rest of the Cheeseheads not finding “A River Runs Through It”… 😛
I could be talked into it, unless you’ve already had a volunteer.
We’re very interested in helping out. Next week works very well for us. Let me know if any more info is available.
We are still waiting for the reporter to get back to us with a day that works…we will notify you all when we know more.
Thanks for volunteering your time!!
