Well…..you really need a gps….the rest can be worked around.

2nd shift is ideal……i used to work 2nd…went to bed right after work, got up at 6….had the whole day to screw around.

If you work second shift, you might be able to sneak a nearby cache or two in the morning before you go to work or maybe during part of the one day a week you have off. Of course it’s lots easier without a foot and a half of snow, but this is only for a few weeks out of the year. I agree..get a GPS..Garmin has some models that run for $100.00 or less that may be a good place to start, to see if you really enjoy the sport. If things work out, you can always buy ‘upwards’ later on.

I agree – 2nd shift is great for caching! You never have to worry about the short days in the winter, or being out with all the swarms of mosquitos at dusk in the summer. And the chance to get out and go for a walk before work is a great stress reliever.

You can find GPS units for just under $100. (Garmin makes one the everyone calls “The Yellow eTrex” that routinely sells right around $100.) You could check eBay for some great deals too.

    Welcome!
